We raise chickens and give away eggs can we deduct expenses related to feeding and caring for the chickens?

Individuals are mostly elderly to help them out.

Per the IRS, contributions made to individuals are considered gifts, and therefor a personal, non deductible expense.

To deduct a contribution, it must be made to an IRS qualified charity.
