Want to purchase new pickup truck for co. in 2017. Is it best to use section 179 or take depr. for 5 years

Let me add that you need to consider what your expected tax bracket will be over the next few years; how long you expect to keep the vehicle, etc.. This may be hard because of potential changes in Federal tax law for 2017 and forward.
