Turbotax is calculating with "Total Income" vs "Taxable Income" on my tax return. I even opened another tax program to check it. How do I get Turbotax to fix their software? Sadly, I'm going to have to pay for another service if this isn't fixed.
thetravelingstones,
Didn't see you post until now, but I do have to say it is unlikely in the extreme that TurboTax is making such a fundamental error. As we cannot see your return, a very good thing, you will need to supply more context and details about what you ran into before we can help. If, indeed, you have run into a bug, I will not hesitate to report it!
Yep TurboTax but the wrong income of mine as well f***** up my whole return for 2022 and they refuse to fix it and it's just trying to charge me
As hbl3973 says, it is highly unlikely that such a fundamental error would go unnoticed.
What are the amounts on lines 9, 11, and 15 on your 1040? And also what is the tax on line 16?
Yes...there is at least one review page that shows every scrap of "potential" income you entered into the software...might even be a couple hundred-thousand of 401k-to-IRA rollover $$ that doesn't get taxed.
That doesn't mean that it's all getting taxed. You have to look at your form 1040 itself to see both AGI and taxable income to see what's getting taxed.
_____________
Like this one is inflated over what is actually getting taxed
...Total $$ entered in some form or another does not mean that all the $$ are being taxed.
