Turbotax is saying I have a lapse in coverage in my HDHP for 2023 and are asking what it was for. I did not have a lapse, it's a "self" insured HDHP, how do I fix?

Working on a past return. I had healthplan thru work all year. Rec'd a 1095-C yearly. I'm not finding where this lapse is that they are seeing?

It's not quite clear. You may need to delete a Form 1095-A since you don't have that. There is no entry for Form 1095-C on the tax return. Use the link for your TurboTax version below to delete that form 1095-A.

  • If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here.
  • If you're using TurboTax Desktop software and need to delete a form, click here.

When I go to "forms" and see the list, there is not 1095 form of any kind there.

And nowhere in the personal info does it ask if I was covered by a HDHP plan (which someone else said is the reason I'm getting that message - that I answered that incorrectly).

Is this same issue going to happen when I get to that section in my 2024 turbo tax interview?

Which state?

This question would be asked and answered in the state section.  Some states you may have to walk through all the questions to get to it, others, it could be in the personal info section or the end of the state return.

You would not see a form 1095.  In MA you would see a a schedule HC.  Other states you would see other forms.
