TurboTax is asking, did my employer "provide child or dependent care on-site at your workplace?"

What is the objective of this question? My child is in daycare which is subsidized of my employer, and Box10 of W2 is 5000. But I spent more than $5000 for the whole year day care cost. Should I say Yes?

You should answer yes.

You will need to fill out the child and dependent care section. This will allow you to claim a credit, and it will also keep the 5,000 dollars in box 10 of your W-2 from being reported as income. The IRS requires child and dependent care benefits in box 10 of the W-2 to be reported as income if Form 2441 is not filed.
