Travel to a conference for work with dependents

I am a single parent and I had to travel to attend conferences twice last year and both times I took my kids with me - 13 year old and 15 year old. Both times I was at a conference full time, I paid for their flight, ground transportation, and entrances to places like a museum or aquarium where they could spend all day. Can I claim any of these expenses as a deduction and if so, which ones?

No, as an employee, you can't deduct any expenses related to your job since the Tax Cuts and Jobs act of 2017.

I am assuming you are an employee who receives a W-2 form.

If you are ‌self-employed, or a contractor that receives a 1099, you may be able to claim some of your own expenses, but not the expenses for your children to come with you.
