Unfortunately, your monthly statement wouldn't normally have the correct numbers. That said, sometimes the Form 1098 is attached to the final statement of the year, or the first one of the following year.
You will want to contact your lender and ask if you were supposed to be sent a Form 1098, and if so, how can you get a copy. If not, ask for the following amounts: 2016 mortgage interest, real estate taxes paid (disbursed), and any qualified mortgage insurance premiums.
