ST-556 - Do I need to file even though I am taking the standard deduction?

I purchased a vehicle during 2019 in Illinois and received ST-556. Do I need to file this even though I am taking the standard deduction?

If you received ST-556, it reports the sales tax paid on the vehicle. However, Illinois has a state income tax, so sales tax is not deductible. You do not need to report the sales tax on your tax return. If you are a resident of Illinois, you would deduct the state income tax rather than take the sales tax deduction if you were itemizing.

No, you do not need to file for ST-556 if you are going to take the Standard Deduction.
