Somewhere I entered the wrong property tax amount and I cannot find how to correct it. I entered the interest amount I paid on my mortgage in both places

when I go back to correct it takes me to the section where I can add Additional property tax payment therefore increasing what I actually paid!

Please see below for details on where to access property tax information to edit prior to submitting your return..  Hope this Helps!..

  • Login to your TurboTax Deluxe online account
  • Click Take me to my return
  • Type the words Itemized Deductions in the search box located in the upper right hand corner; Click the Jump To Itemized Deductions link in the search results.
  • This will take you to the Now it's time for the fun part... screen.
  • Click show more in the Your Home section of the page.
  • Click Edit next to the Property (Real Estate) Taxes section.
  • Change the amount for Real Estate Taxes listed once you reach the Enter the property taxes you paid screen.

I am doing my Turbotax on a program I downloaded, so I am not using Turbotax Online.  I entered a property tax amount and hit "done." Now it won't allow me to enter additional amounts that I paid.  When I click "update," it tells me that it has my info.  How do I add additional amounts?  Thanks!

If you have entered Property Tax for one property you own, and wish to enter property tax for a second property, go to the Credits & Deductions section.

Under the heading Property Tax, choose EDIT/UPDATE.

You should see an entry spot to add additional property taxes.
