Should I both include "Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion" in the Income section & the "Foreign Tax Credit" in the Deductions section - or just one of them?

@ben-geisler , I am not sure I am clear on your post.

1. Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion is  in the  Personal  Income section -- this covers  the case where  you have income that qualifies as Foreign Earned Income (  Foreign wages and/or self-employment) and exclusion thereof  using form 2555  ( Physical Presence Test or Bonafide  Residence Test ).

2. Under Deductions and Credits Tab/ section you have  Foreign Tax Credit -- this deals with  Foreign Tax credit only .  This could be because of general category -- unexcluded  foreign earned income,  HTKO, Passive income, Certain income resourced by treaty etc. etc.

So I don't understand  what you are trying to do --- do you have  Foreign Earned income, Passive income or what ?  Is your tax home  foreign ?

I will circle back once I hear from you --yes ?
