Roth IRA Contribution

So, I am a bit confused...

I tried to add a credit for the max Roth contribution for my spouse and myself but TT is telling me that we don't qualify. We both have retirement accounts through work but our AGI was well below the contribution threshold for MFJ, combined our taxable wages were less 70k.  Even considering the MAGI, I do not understand why the numbers do not work out.

Thanks for any insight.

Did you also make any contributions to a traditional IRA? The limit for the sum of contributions to a Roth IRA or a traditional IRA is $6,500 ($7,500 if you're age 50 or older).

By any chance are you filing married separate?
