Regarding HDHP coverage, how do I know if I failed to be an "eligible individulal"

I had coverage through my husbands workplace on a family plan.

An eligible individual for making contributions to a health savings account (HSA):

- was covered by a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) on the first day

- doesn't have any other health coverage

- isn't enrolled in Medicare

- can't be claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return

If any of the above don't apply to you, you wouldn't be an eligible individual for HSA contributions.
