"Other Tax Situations" shows 2018 AGI amount (includes home sale/purchase). Why is that amount being transferred from "last year's return"? Would it affect final numbers?

Your need to enter your 2018 to verify your identity to efile 2019. No it shouldn't affect your 2019 return.
