Oregon Part Year Resident Itemized Deductions

Where/how do I indicate which itemized deductions belong to Oregon vs Maine?    The Oregon return wants the specific Oregon deductions on their Schedule A unlike Maine.

Maine is taking your Federal Schedule A amounts and calculating a % based on time you stated you lived there.

The Oregon form for Part-Year Residents (OR-40-P) has not been finalized yet.  Expected date is 2/3/2022.  If you wait until it is finalized, Oregon should do the same for you as Maine.

Click this link for Oregon State Form Availability.

You could do some math yourself and calculate the % of your deductions that belongs to Oregon just to get a pre-update estimate.

I'm still unable to change the amounts on Schedule A of the Oregon part year return.    Schedule A  only wants the deductions associated with Oregon.   The numbers are all hard coded and I can't over ride the.   How do I fix this??

If your Oregon State interview does not display a screen with  'Federal Amount' and then have a field for you to enter an 'Oregon Amount', Oregon appears to take all Federal amounts in total, then apply a % to them, based on time lived in Oregon.

Oregon Schedule A totals carry over to OR-40-P, Line 37.   The Oregon % is on Line 35.

Here's a link to Oregon 40-P and Instructions for Form OR-A.
