Try the following:

To delete the Foreign Earned Income:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes.
  3. Go to Wages and Income.
  4. Scroll down to Less Common Income and click show more.
  5. Scroll down to Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion and click Revisit.
  6. Answer No to the Question "Did You Make Any Money Outside the United States?".

If you entered the wages in the W-2 section, go back to and uncheck the box that you worked outside the US

You can delete Foreign Income by deleting Form 2555.

Simply follow these steps:

1. Sign into your account and select your current return

2. Select Tax Tools on the bottom left and then select Tools (see attached Tax Tools)

3. Select Delete A Form

4. Find Form 2555 and select delete next to it  It may have 2 forms, one for taxpayer and one for spouse.  Delete both

This should fix your issue

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. Even after confirming I had no additional income outside of the us, and deleted the 2555 form using tools, it still says I have to review before I file.
However when I try to revisit Less Common Income / Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion - It tells me that that in order to review I have to upgrade to the Turbotax Deluxe version. Can anyone help me with this issue?

I have the same issue. The form keeps coming up as needing to be reviewed even though I deleted it many times.  My only recourse at this point is to print the documents and file by mail! This is clearly a software error that needs to be resolved.

Let's try this again:

In TurboTax online,

  • Sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • From the left menu, select Tax Tools, click on the drop down arrow
  • Select Tools
  • Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form
  • Select Delete next to the Form 2555 and related worksheets and Continue with My Return

If you have lived outside the United States for at least 330 days during 12 consecutive months, you may qualify for the foreign income exclusion.  If it does not apply to you, you do not need to file.

Just for clarification, I'm using the desktop version. I've deleted the form well over a dozen times. It does NOT show up in the forms view. But I still get the error at the end of the filing process saying I need to add dates to this deleted form. This is not the first year I have had this problem. Last year I had to paper file because of this glitch as well. I called the turbotax specialist yesterday and they could not solve the problem either.

Please don't respond with delete the form. Obviously that doesn't work. Somehow turbotax isn't actually deleting the form.

Could your issue be possibly related to an entry for Vacation / Business days spent in the US?

After digging around for endless hours, I believe I discovered the error. In the W2 guide it asks the question whether this income is "foreign earned". If it is checked turbotax mistakenly automatically adds form 2555. In the FORMS view of the Turbotax on the W2 form, PART 1 Item 1, (Obviously related to the same checkbox in the guide) it asks, "the income reported on this w2 is from a foreign source AND is eligible to be excluded on Form 2555. I unchecked this box and the error went away.  It did not affect anything else on my tax return. It seems quite simply an issue of poor wording on the account of Turbotax, especially since there are clearly a question in the foreign earned income section that specifically asks if you want to try and exclude this income (2555) and if you select NO, then this form and all of its associated links should be removed.

Hopefully, this helps others.
