NYS: DMV registration and inspection

Are the DMV registration and inspection Worth adding to the New York State tax returns and is there any benefit or must it be a certain percentage of gross income? Thanks.

Those costs are never deductible for a personal vehicle.  If this is a business vehicle, and you are using the exact expense method, you can include those as expenses of ownership.  You can't include them if you are using the standard mileage method.

(Note that in some states, if the registration cost is based on the value of the vehicle, a portion of the registration fee may count as a deductible state tax.  New York is not one of those states, so the registration is not deductible.  The safety inspection is never deductible.)
