My new born child does not show up in dependent drop down list

Hi,

I am working on the deductions and credits section of my Federal Tax return.

I am using Turbotax desktop on Mac, purchased+downloaded the premier version.

I had a new born son in 2023. Already added the info in "Personal Info".

(and no one else has claimed him as a dependent in their tax return filings)

As shown in this screenshot, I expect my son shows up in this drop down list of dependent.

I called custom support. The person on the phone helped me to navigate a bit, and agreed this seems like a bug.

We also tried:

* save the filing and re-open + resume by double-clicking the saved turbotax file

(so the dependent personal info gets "updated" to some server even in the local cache for the UI to pick up)

* in this page, clicking "Add Another Person", this takes me to the same form in "personal info" section editing dependents, I tried to remove the dependent and re-add the dependent. The drop down does not include the dependent.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Please double-check in the Personal Info section that you listed that your newborn has lived with you all year, even though some of that time may have been prior to your child's actual birthday.

If that doesn't force your child to populate in the dropdown box, please let us know so we can take additional steps to assist you in troubleshooting your return.

Congratulations on the birth of your child!

If you had a child born in 2023- go back and double check your answers under Personal Info. You need to answer 2 questions…..

Did your child live with you for the WHOLE year? Answer YES even if they were born late in the year (even on Dec 31).

Then was at least half of child's expenses paid by CHILD? Usually is NO.
