My income last year was $52,700, my medical premiums were $4,313 should I have claimed this under medical expenses. Premiums were paid out of pocket after tax

Total medical expenses must be more than 10% (7 1/2% if over 65) of your adjusted gross income before they will be included in the computation of your itemized deductions. If you have no other medical expenses, you would not qualify for a medical deduction based on the insurance premiums alone.
