My hubby has work and live oversea for the past year and need to file form 2555, do I still qualify for the EIC since we has 1 child.
Hi Team,
Have a question related to Form 2555, my hubby works overseas in 2020 for the whole year and wants to repot the income, which is qualified for the exclusion, and I earned less than 30K. Do we still qualify for the EIC (got a child)
Best

No, even though the foreign income is excluded, IRS will not let you claim EIC. It states in this publication that "you can’t claim the earned income credit if you file Form 2555, Foreign Earned Income. "
