My ex wife was awarded the house when we divorced but it's still in my name. do I still need to check the box that I own a home?

Unless you intend to enter mortgage interest that you paid, or property taxes you paid, you have no reason to say you owned a home.  Checking that box will just lead you to the questions regarding home ownership and then you will be asked to enter mortgage interest, etc.
