My daughter turned 17 in November, how do I change not getting the child tax credit into getting it?

once a child turns 17 you are no longer eligible for the CTC for that child.

also, the child is no longer eligible for the up to $2000 tax credit and only the $500 'other dependent tax credit',

she won't be eligible for the stimulus on your tax return; however, if you were paid stimulus for her on either of the 2 stimulus payments, you won't be required to return it.

The usual follow up comment is: but, she didn't turn 17 until November. She was under 17 most of the year.

Look at it this way: when she was born, in 2003, you got the full child tax credit, even though she was only around a few weeks, So, you got 17 years of the child tax credit, the same as everybody else.
