My child is attending college overseas, in the EU. How do I figure the number of months that she was in the US? Do I ignore partial months or include?

She visited us several times, duration varied, but sometimes two weeks sometimes several months

Living away at college is considered to be a "temporary absence" so you can still say she lived with you all year.
