My alimony paid from 2017 is not deducting? It looks like the numbers do but it still is saying I should take the standard deduction which isn’t correct.

Alimony paid is not an itemized deduction so it will have no affect on whether you can use itemized versus standard deductions.  The alimony paid is an Adjustment to Income and reported on your federal tax return, Form 1040 on Line 10.
