Last year I've deducted the NYS auto registration fee. This year there is NO such fee, therefore I'v entered 0. TT finds an error in that box How do I fix this?

In NY State the autoregistration fee is done every other year, therefore in 2016 I paid no such fee, therefore there is nothing to enter in TT other than zero which is what I entered.

However at the checking step, the program reports an error which is incorrect.

How do I fix this?

I actually called TurboTax on this and they were able to help. While you are in that section, click the 'Forms' button at the very upper left hand side of the page. For me, it automatically pulled up the form where the Vehicle Registration fees are. You can manually delete the previous year's amount and clear out anything else on that line that is listed. When you are done, simply click the 'EasyStep' option, which is at the top left hand side of the page, and it will bring you back to the section you were in. I did this and reran the error check and everything was fine. Thanks for your help TurboTax!
