Kansas City Earnings Tax

Why do I have the subject on my Missouri Tax form?  I do not and have not worked in Kansas City!

It may just be a general question that is asked of everyone.  Can you ignore it or say no and move on?

I have tried to delete it, but with no results.  It keeps coming back for input.

You must file a Kansas City Wage Earner Return (Form RD-109) to pay earnings tax if you are either of the following:

a. A Kansas City resident who received salaries, wages, commissions or other compensation from which tax has not been withheld by the employer, or

b. A nonresident or part-year resident of Kansas City who worked or provided services within the city and received salaries, wages, commissions or other compensation from which tax has not been withheld by the employer

If neither applies to you completely sign out of TurboTax.  Then once signed back in be sure to go back through the MO state return and be sure no addresses or counties selected indicate Kansas City.  Continue through the state interview and  "Uncheck" the Kansas City Earnings boxes and Kansas City Profit return boxes for you and spouse, if applicable.
