ItsDeductible 2022 "Items" Tab is DOA

I am immensely familiar with ItsDeductible usage, so I don't need any "how to" info.

When trying to enter an "Items" donation into ItsDeductible on the 2022 tab, the "items" list won't populate. Flipping over to 2021 and 2020 tabs (the only 2 you currently display), I can see the "items" list just fine... working just as it has for the last 10+ years I've used this tool. But on the 2022 tab, it's empty. I suspect it just hasn't been enabled for 2022 for some reason (either an omission or Intuit has decided to let everyone manually enter tons of repetitive info, thus making ItsDeductible a useless tool going forward).

Steps to reproduce:

Log into ItsDeductible, click on 2022 tab.

On "Items" line, click Add.

Choose existing or enter new charity name, select date, and click Continue.

Boom. Zero items.

Do this EXACT same thing on 2021 or 2020 tab and you will see the standard categorized list for choosing typical donation items (again, as the tool has worked for at least 10 years).

There is no navigable support channel for ItsDeductible, so here I am... can someone please fix? And again, I don't need a bot to point me to the instructions on how to use the tool. Those instructions explain just what I outlined above for 2020 and 2021 tabs... and is what's broken on the 2022 tab.

Its Deductible is just not ready yet for your 2022 entries.   Try back in a week or so.   You are very "organized" to be trying to enter your donations so soon, but you cannot use them until you prepare a 2022 return in a year, so no rush.

This now appears to be up and working. “The mills of the gods grind slow…….”

Thanks for the prompt response. I am very "organized" in that I like to plug in donations as they're made so they don't disappear forever into the ether. I'll check back in a couple of weeks to see if the tool is working then. It's a little surprising that the development team would deploy an incomplete tool to the public site, so it's good to know they are still working on it. Thanks also for not pointing me to the ItsDeductible "how to use" page, or to tell me to clear my cache and reboot 😉

There is no 2022 tax year option for tracking deductibles in the it’s deductible app.  I even tried deleting the app and reloading.  What’s up?

It's a week later and still no ItsDeductible.  I usually put the donations on the list when I put them in the box to go to the charity.  Bad weather has me doing early "Spring cleaning."  So far, I have lists with no where to log them.

I have tried several times since January 2, 2022 to access the "Browse" table in It's Deductible. The latest was today, January 20. I hope those who suggested it's just too early are correct. I'll give it a few more weeks. Thanks to those who commented to the original inquiry.

Same here. Just did a major closet cleanout with hundreds of items going to a charity. Would like to log them while the memory is fresh. Yes, the data will not be needed until maybe March of 2023 but by that time, who can remember what was donated?

@aspooner1 They are working on updates to It's Deductible----should be ready within a week or less.  Check back.

Still seems like bad practice for the release team to publicly post a product (that lots of people use, and have used for a very long time) that isn't actually ready to use. It doesn't reflect well on the QA and release processes, and raises the possibility that other Intuit products are as poorly managed. I developed software and firmware products for 40 years. We didn't (knowingly) release unbaked goods... and if we had, we'd have pulled it IMMEDIATELY on realizing it so as not to damage our brand image. I get it... "2 weeks." But maybe they should disable the entire 2022 tab until then so more people don't have to find out that you've 'released' something that doesn't work. (Of course, you'll still get the "why can't I see 2022 yet" questions, but those are less damaging to answer.

/2 cents

I agree with 2cents, but at this point please do NOT disable 2022 as many of us have already made entries on the other tabs. I make entries as they occur and do not wish to have to repeat what I’ve a.ready done.

I'm sure they were just surprised by some new government documentation requirement to insure we "the ruled" are not screwing our masters out of their cut.  I have 9 full bags of clothing sitting on my floor ready to be donated, and they will stay there until I have a way to track it... too bad for those in need of warm clothes.

No, it is needed NOW. We are downsizing and donating household items that I enter NOW, note when I file my return. It saves having to make a manual list and then create another list later. Please address this ASAP. Thank you!

So glad I checked here. We all did a major closet clean out plus I am donating all my mother’s clothes after her death. Guess I’ll make a list because my pile is massive and I need to donate to get a room back in my house! 😉

Glad to see others frustrated by this oversight by Intuit.  I have another thread commenting on this issue.  It's been 4 weeks, still no fix?

I also have been waiting. It would be much better if the tab said unavailable with a very conservative released date instead of the standard software developers "2 weeks". I was told to say "2 weeks" when I first started SW 30 years ago!

@deductibleone

That's two "two weeks."

The 2021 contributions do not work because you will need to type in every charity with address at least two times, once for its deductible and another for turbo tax. You will notice that when you upload the file it will duplicate the charity names and one needs to delete 1 by 1 to finally file return.  There is no longer the itsdeductible previous years information. Very concerned about an audit trail.
