It says that I told you I paid foreign taxes on a 1099-DIV but I didn't; because of this I cannot input the amount I paid in foreign income taxes. How can I correct this?

If you downloaded the 1099-div from the broker/payer, any foreign tax paid will appear in box 7.  If you chose to type in the info yourself, then you would insert the foreign tax paid into box 7.  Bring up the 1099-div worksheet. If there is an entry in box 7, that is the foreign tax paid which TT sees.
