Is the proceeds from unclaimed property issued by the state of Oregon taxable? The claim was recognized December 2016 and was issued a check In Jan 2017,did not get 1099

The unclaimed property was for stocks from charles schwab forgotten years ago, and was issued a check from state of oregon for the cash value ,after i authorized them to sell it ,i did not receive any 1099

Yes, it is taxable and you may not get a 1099. It will be on the 2017 return, if the check date was 2017.
