Is mortgage interest supposed to be inputted for Schedule E and 1098 section?

For rental Property, enter mortgage interest only in the rental section only. It goes on schedule E. 

For partially rented house or if you converted your primary residence into a rental property during the tax year, you will allocate mortgage interest between schedule A and Schedule E.
