Is it required to include the address on the charitable contributions worksheet?

No, the address is not required.  However, you should retain it with your records.

That's what I thought, but I am getting an error message on one charity for which I have not entered an address.  Is this going to hold up my filing?

Yes, you do need to enter an address for that charity. Here is the criteria for reporting a donation to a qualified charity. 

  1. Amount of donation.. 
  2. Organization's name and address;
  3. Date and location of donation;
  4. Reasonably detailed description of the property.
