Is it necessary to enter things like medical expenses if I only take the standard deduction?

There is no way that my deductions will be large enough to itemize. In that case, is it necessary to list things like car registration taxes, medical and dental expenses, and other typically deductible expenses?

Thank you in advance,

Dana.

There is no actual need to enter any of these expenses at all.  But by entering them you can track your expenses over time and keep track of them in case they rise to the level that you can itemize.

But if you know that they aren't going to be deductible then you can skip them.
