Is a tax credit added to my standard deduction?

I am having a new energy efficiant furnace, hot water, chumney repair, and wood insert installed

 credits have noting to do with either itemized or standard deductions.  they are applied after they are subtracted from taxable income and your taxes are computed. the credits are subtracted from your taxes but are limited
