IRA Contribution for 2019--TurboTax Software says it's too late despite extension until 7/15/2020

I know that 2019 IRA contributions are allowed until 7/15/20, but the Turbo Tax 2019 software is saying it's too late--still referencing the 4/15/20 date.  Any suggestions?

If you are using TurboTax CD/Download, please update your program.

Thank you--I downloaded directly from the website.  And every time I open the program it checks for updates before opening my tax return, so it seems like it should be up-to-date...

Please manually updates by clicking on Online in the Menu line and Check for Updates.

I have personally checking the program and it shows July 15, 2020 (see screenshot).

Thank you for that tip--I just checked manually for updates, and it says I am up-to-date.

It's interesting because in the "Learn More" pop-up it references the 7/15/20 deadline, but in the place that asks for contribution amounts, it specifies "between January 1, 2020 and April 15, 2020."  Also, in the area that calculates how much I might save by contributing to an IRA, it just says it's past the deadline and suggests having the software calculate what I can save via contributing for next year.

Perhaps I can just insert a number in the area that specifies "between January 1, 2020 and April 15, 2020" even though it's past that date and all will be well, but it would also be nice to be able to calculate the impacts of contributing or not.

You can simply indicate the contribution was made prior to 4/15 ... it will make no difference in the end and will keep you from getting the error message.

What is your program version number?   It will be visible somewhere under "About Turbotax."  (I don't have TT on my current computer so I can't tell you which version to look for but I can tell you later tonight.)

Sometimes, the Windows registry becomes corrupted and the program does not recognize the update when it is installed.  In that case you need to uninstall, reinstall from a fresh download, and re-update.

Thanks--that's an interesting idea to reinstall and see if this clears up--my version # is: 4.2.7.8
