If union dues are largely not deductible any longer (save self-employment), why does TurboTax prompt for them in deductions? TT, please add a clarification to the page!

Union dues, nor any other employee expenses are no longer deductible on the Federal return, but some states still let you claim them. Self-employed persons do not have union dues.
