If my solar panels were installed at the beginning of January 2024, but we signed all paperwork and handled financing in Fall of 2023, can we get the solar energy credit?

Can we claim them on our 2023 return?

Since the installation was not completed until tax year 2024, the credit can only be claimed on a 2024 tax return to be filed next year.
