If I don't have any dependents/children, why is it making me fill out the adoptive child worksheet?

You may have clicked on something inadvertently.

 

See if there is a Form 8839 in your list of forms, schedules and worksheets, if so delete the form

 

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

Check your entries in the MY INFO section again to be sure you didn't accidently indicate you had an adopted child.

 

If everything looks good, you can delete the worksheet from your return.  

 

After that, close TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies, and you should be good to go.
