The IRS will expecting her to claim that income on her tax return....is she claiming the babysitting income?
Your baby sitter is obligated to report all income she gets whether you claim it or not. It is not a "bother" it is a legal obligation.
i paid my niece to watch my daughter for the whole year on the weekends. the problem is she has already filed her taxes and i have not filed yet. I also paid he in cash can i still claim this on my taxes. will it affect her in anyway???
You need her SSN or Tax ID so that you can claim the amount you paid her to take care of your child while you worked. The IRS will match what you say you paid her to the earnings she reported on her tax return. They need to match. It is her responsibility to report the income.
OK so with no paper trail your telling me I can still add what I paid her?
A Tax ID is a number a person can obtain from the IRS to use for identification when they are self-employed, etc. so that they do not have to give out their Social Security number to others. If you are golng to claim childcare you must have either a SSN or a Tax ID for the childcare provider.
