You are eligible for this credit if, during the year for which you are claiming the credit, you:
- Are 62 years of age or older as of December 31,
- Lived in Montana for at least nine months,
- Rented, owned, or leased a home in Montana for at least six months, and
- Have a total household income less than $45,000
The credit is up to $1,150.
The credit is claimed on Schedule 2EC elderly homeowner tax credit.

You can delete the schedule if you don't want to claim the credit.
- Open or continue your return.
- Switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon.
- From the menu, select the form you want to remove.
- After the form is generated in the right pane, select the Delete Form button.
If using TurboTax Online:
- Open or continue your return.
- On Tax Home, select Start, Continue, or Pick up where you left off to enter your return.
- In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Select Delete next to the schedule
