I was withheld SSN and Medicare taxes since 2 years. Can i get a refund?

Hi,

I'm a F1 student working full-time since 2 years based in bay area, CA. I am being withheld SSN and Medicare taxes since the beginning of my job here. I recently found out that I'm exempt from paying these taxes so how do I get a refund for these withheld taxes ?. I filed my taxes for both 2021 and 2022 and got a refund but no one mentioned about these wrongly mentioned SSN and medicare taxes. Please let me know.

Thanks

Exemption from those taxes depends upon what kind of work you did. Check here.
