I was claimed as a dependent in 2019 and 2020

This is the first year (2021) I'm filing on my own. I was claimed as a dependent in 2019 and 2020.

Am I eligible to receive the 3rd stimulus payment ? It's asking what I received, which was zero , however my parents did receive the stimulus.

I was thinking I was not but I've yet to see a definite answer.

If you are not being claimed as a dependent on your 2021 tax return then you are eligible to receive the Recovery Rebate Credit of $1400 on your return.

You personally have never received the 3rd stimulus payment so you are eligible on the 2021 tax return.

Your parents do not have to pay back the payment that they received for you.

Thank you for the answer. So if I put zero on what I received and claim the credit I won't be messing my parents up, because they got it last year,  will I ?

No, you will not be messing your parents up. They do not have to repay the payment that they received, even though you get the credit on your 2021 tax return.
