I sometimes commute to my office on the weekend (outside of normal business hours) and do not submit my miles for reimbursement from my company, can I deduct these miles?

My company would reimburse me at the standard mileage rate if I submit an expense report for these miles but I have not done so.  Therefore, I would think that they are reimbursable miles that I can deduct on my taxes.  Thoughts?...

Unfortunately, not anymore.

Miles outside commuting would have been deductible in 2017, but the changes to the tax laws have removed the deductions for un-reimbursed job related expenses.
