I sold a 2nd home in Vermont and taxes were withheld at the closing. The Turbo Tax form is requiring a State Identification Number. Where do I get that number?

The only time I see a requirement for any sort of number for a home in Vermont is the school tax code.

You might also look at a property tax bill for that property. 

 

If this is in regards to the 1099-S you received for the sale, only a Federal TIN is listed below the FILER'S name and address. You could use that however I have not heard of that being asked for.
