I purchased turbo tax home and business for filing my tax return. Can I also legally use it to file w-2's and a 1099 for my church where I volunteer office services?

No, you will need to have the correct name and EIN of the nonprofit. Turbo Tax Home and Business doesn't support the 990 form needed to file a non-profit return including issuing W2's and 1099's. Our Turbo Tax Business product would not be able to accommodate this filing either.

I have the EIN number.  I am the treasurer and this year we are required to file electronically

Yes, you can use your Home and Business to prepare the W-2's and 1099 forms for your church.  Make sure that you start a new return so that the church information is in a separate file from your personal data.

Also be aware of the new 1099-NEC form for 2020.  That form takes the place of Line 7 on the 1099-MISC form.  If you are preparing 1099's for employees, then use 1099-MISC.  If for sub-contractors, use 1099-NEC.

Here is an article about the new 1099-NEC form.
