I paid origination fees when I refinanced in 2020. The points were being amortized over the original 30 year refinance. That company then sold my mortgage to another company in October of 2022 . How do I continue to spread the points from the original refinance? There is nothing in the TurboTax walkthrough that addresses this. I received 1098 forms from both mortgage companies for 2022, but I expect I will only receive a 1098 from the new mortgage company in 2023. How do I reconcile this so the original points continue to be amortized?

The points are/were entered as a physically separate asset in the assets/depreciation section. Just leave that entry/asset alone and it will continue to amortize over the life of the loan.
