I paid for many job expenses without reimbursement for improved working conditions. For schedule UE (Elect Engr) I don't know what the "detailed explanation" would be.

What might an example statement be? I'm not at all sure where to go with it.

You may be able to claim these job-related expenses as part of Miscellaneous Itemized Deductions on Schedule A. 

You can enter the expenses using your Desktop version by going to Federal Taxes> Deductions & Credits. Then, scroll down to Job-Related Expenses. Click Start. (see screen page attached from the file)
