If you hire someone to care for a dependent or your disabled spouse, and you report income from employment or self-employment on your tax return, you may be able to take the credit for child and dependent care expenses on Form 2441. There are a number of eligibility requirements you must satisfy first, so it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the rules before preparing Form 2441.

"Provider amount paid" is the amount that you paid to that provider for their service.

If you did not pay anyone to take care of your child(ren), you are not eligible to take the credit for Child and Dependent Care

Do you have any income?  Are you married?  You need earned income from working or a Net Profit from self employment income to take the Child Care Credit.  If you are married you both need earned income to qualify.
