I have Official Receipt for Pre-Retrofit Energy Evaluation, Total payment: $785, Where should I use this in my taxes?

The section for energy credits will be ready on March 8, 2025. You can skip that section and work on the rest of your return.

 

Home energy audits qualify for the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit. After March 8, you will input your Pre-Retrofit Energy Evaluation costs in TurboTax as follows:

 

  1. Click on "Search" at the top right of your TurboTax screen
  2. Type "energy credit" in the search box
  3. Click on the link "Jump to energy credit"
  4. This will take you to the TurboTax screens that address 
  5. Follow the screens and answer all follow-up questions about your 

Make sure to run all updates in your TurboTax program.

 

 

To search for the energy credit section of TurboTax your screen will look something like this:

 

 

Select "Yes" to "Do you want to take an investment credit for 2024?

 

 

The section will be ready March 8, 2025.
