I have been using lyft for rides to work. Am I able to claim this ?

COMMUTING EXPENSES

The expenses of commuting to and from work (or to and from school) such as gas, tolls, bus fare, train fare, taxis, Uber rides, parking, etc. are not deductible on your Federal return.  Sorry.

Note:  You can, however, claim expenses for travel between job sites

No.  Job-related expenses are an itemized deduction.  You would have to use Deluxe or higher.  Unless you also have any other itemized deductions like mortgage interest etc. it will not do you any good to enter mileage for going between job sites.
