Timber sales are reported as a long-term captial gain with $0 basis.
To get to the input area for reporting the sale:
- Sign in to your account and click on the orange Take me to my return button (skip this step if you are already in your return)
- Click on Search at the top of the screen
- Input "investment sales" in the search box and hit enter
- The first link available should be Jump to investment sales - click on this link
For the date purchased, you will probably want to use the date you purchased the property (assuming that it was a least a year prior to the sale date).
