I filed for my EIN in August and stated September as my start date; however, I have business-related expenses as far back as January. Can I deduct expenses before Sept.?
I filed as a sole-proprietor for an online education business.
Before September, I paid for a website and a monthly subscription to an online education platform where I am creating courses/content and through which the business will be conducted.

Yes, you can absolutely claim these expenses. Just because you did not have an EIN, that doesn't mean you don't have a business. Millions of taxpayers file business income and expenses just under their social security number. Maximize those expenses and lower your self-employment tax!
